Job Details:
Demonstrates effective communication skills employing empathy and compassion when working with the patient/families in the provision of social services.Responsible for providingpsycho-social support, counseling and necessary referral for patients and families.Able to work with age specific populations according to the plans with physicians, nursing staff and other care givers as appropriate. In some cases provides supervision for BS level social worker.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
vMSW in social work.Licensure in the State ofIowa.
vBCLS certification.
vPrefer previous health care experience.
vKnowledge of Medicare and insurance industry.
vKnowledge of Joint Commission requirements.
vAbility to read and communicate effectively in English.
vStrong written and verbal skills.
vBasic computer knowledge.
vMust demonstrate critical thinking skills and decision-making ability required for management responsibilities.
vAbility to communicate with tact and professionalism.
vAbility to work independently and to communicate effectively.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
